چکیده

Quantum electrodynamic (QED) effects that shift the binding energies of hydrogenic energy levels have been expressed in terms of a semi-analytic expansion in powers of Zα and ln[(Zα)−2], where Z is the nuclear charge number and α is the fine-structure constant. For many QED effects, numerical data are available in the domain of high Z where the Zα expansion fails. In this Letter, we demonstrate that it is possible, within certain limits of accuracy, to extrapolate the Zαexpansion from the low-Z to the high-Z domain. We also review twoloop self-energy effects and provide an estimate for the problematic nonlogarithmic coefficient B60. PACS numbers: PACS: 12.20.Ds, 11.15.Bt, 11.10.Jj

Two-loop self-energy correction to the ground-state Lamb shift in H-like ions

The two-loop self-energy correction is evaluated to all orders in Zα for the groundstate Lamb shift of H-like ions with Z ≥ 20, where Z is the nuclear charge number and α is the fine structure constant. The results obtained are compared with analytical calculations performed within the Zα-expansion.

Loop-after-loop contribution to the second-order Lamb shift in hydrogenlike low-Z atoms

We present a numerical evaluation of the loop-after-loop contribution to the second-order self-energy for the ground state of hydrogenlike atoms with low nuclear charge numbers Z. The calculation is carried out in the Fried-Yennie gauge and without an expansion in Zα. Our calculation confirms the results of Mallampalli and Sapirstein and disagrees with the calculation by Goidenko and coworkers....

Nrqed Approach to the Hyperfine Structure of the Muonium Ground State

The method of NRQED is an adaptation of QED to bound systems. While it is fully equivalent to QED, it enables us to explore the QED bound states systematically as an expansion in the fine structure constant α and velocity (∼ Zα) of the bound electron. I describe how to construct the NRQED Hamiltonian choosing recent works on the α(Zα), α (Zα), α(Zα), α(Zα), and α(Zα) radiative corrections to th...

One-loop Corrections of Order (zα)

The corrections of order (Zα) 6 m 1 /m 2 and (Zα) 7 from one-loop two-photon exchange diagrams to the energy spectra of the hydrogenic atoms are calculated with the help of the Taylor expansion of corresponding integrands. The method of averaging the quasipotential over the wave functions in the d-dimensional coordinate space is formulated. The numerical values of the obtained contributions to ...

The two-loop self-energy: diagrams in the coordinate-momentum representation

The paper reports a technique of evaluation of Feynman diagrams in the mixed coordinatemomentum representation. The technique is employed for a recalculation of the two-loop self-energy correction for the ground state of hydrogen-like ions with the nuclear charge numbers Z = 10−30. The numerical accuracy is considerably improved as compared to the previous calculations. The higher-order (in Zα)...
